Does anyone know of a loading dock or similar that can be used to load a car onto a 48' flatbed trailer???
It's time to pick up my new car, have the truck available but need a way to get the car onto the trailer and am running short of resources of my own. All I am after is a place to drive the car onto so it can then be driven onto the trailer and tied down. Anyone got any ideas??? |

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I've never used a flatbed that size. Arent' there ramps available with the truck, or does it usually get its cargo only at a loading dock? If ramps won't do it, what's the height you need?

I work for a company that has it's own trucking line so am able to have them pick the car up. It is a regular 48' flatbed like you would see them haul lumber or pipe etc. on. I have an option as far as what trailer they use so it is either approx. 4' off the ground for a regular 48' or about 2' if I send a drop deck trailer. These trucks don't have any ramps like the regular car carriers have.
Getting it picked up a hauled back for free I thought was a good deal so I'm running with it! |
