300,000 -12,000 to get grill em.
I have replaced the both flex discs, damper and diff. bushings. The car rides much much better. The flex discs were rock hard and cracked. How often should I replace these discs. Thank you Nick |

I've been told the flex disks go about every 60,000 miles in normal use. My diff mounts look like yours, probably last 150,000 miles or so.
Take a look at the links in the rear suspension, too -- signs of deterioration at the bushings indicates a need for replacement. The center sleeve of the bushing is clamped by the mounting bolt and the rubber flexes -- when the rubber starts to go, the car will drive progressively worse until the torque link really goes bad, at which point the car will begin to torque steer horribly. Take a look at the rear subframe bushings and mounts (two rear and two front) -- cracks or leaks (one set is glycol filled) indicate a need for replacement. Bad ones cause the car to wander badly, and be overly sensitive to crosswinds. I know, I'm in the middle of this myself! Peter

Nick Mendoza,
I think there is no age on those rubber items in the transmision or the suspension. It depends heavily on the style of driving the car, manual or auto-tranny, towing are not and even the whether conditions ( warm and dry or cold and wet )... On my car, they are 326000 km old and still going strong. But I can expect one of these days... Fortunately these items announce a failure. One can feel/hear them before they are completely gone ! Thank you for all the info.
I do not have a book on my car. I have made all the repairs by reading this site.
My plan is to reach the 500,000 mile marker. Nick |

Well Nick,
500000 miles that makes more than 800000 km. I'll try to beat you. That makes 800000 km minus 327000 km (that's on the counter now) = 473000 km to go. That means only 294375 miles to go... Must be possible...Should take me about 6.5 years... Let us talk again, say in the year 2010...you never now !! Good luck anyway and untill then... Danny |

Nick,
Is that your radiator ? You'll soon need one of that older Benzes : they have bigger radiators so more place for badges ! Danny |

Fugi finepix 3500
I researched and found that the fuji is the most user friendly in my option. Why? Everything is automatic. Focus, Exposure and it also has a movie mode that I have used a couple of times. I also liked the shape of it. You can easily operate the camera with one hand. It has a shape of a pistol grip. The other block cameras are harder to hold because they are look like little bricks.
Tip = Get quality rechargeable battery. Nickel metal hydride (Nimh). The new batteries are rated at 2300mAh. This is the capacity of the battery. It takes all night to charge the batteries but they are worth it. The Fuji takes four batteries to operate. I have 16 batteries with a charger that charges 8 batteries at a time. Excellent for weddings, birthdays and trips. When it comes time to download - you just plug it in and it almost does everything itself. The newer versions have more megapixels and are also user friendly. I picked mine up on ebay. It was refurbished and I have been having excellent luck with it. It was about $150.00. Fry's wanted 400 for it. Nick Mendoza |
