Tempted by a 300D
Hey all,
While looking for a replacement car for my wife (eldest son totaled our Escape) The saleman saw my 84 and started talking about his grandmother's 85 300D. She's not driving it anymore and wants to get rid of it. He believes she bought it new. Their asking $1500. The car is green and has 217K miles. It's sitting in Rockdale Texas. When he drove it he said he was supprised it did'nt smoke and had pretty good get up and go. If I only had another space in the driveway. If anyone's interested I can get you the guy's info.

Yes I would be interested - other 1/2 works in Rockdale and could give it a view. Hope it's not the "green" color I am thinking of.

Yea, somehow I slipped that Houston car past you guys one night after midnight. Hit the border at about 100 mph and never looked back.
Bummer was that it got hit by a F-150 last June. I swear that you could unscrew the brake lines by hand. Very clean car. They don't tend to come with block heaters however when purchased in TX. Don

Sounds like a excellent deal. I would get it if I were you. If it does indeed run good that is. More than likely it is 100% rust free- if it is an original Texas car. Good luck.

My brother is driving a burnt orange 300D euro auto NA. We were foolish and bought it at night. Looked pretty good in the dark Its already scored him about 20k miles but its a bit rough around the edges. Lots of rust and subsequent mechanical issues. We paid about $1500 for it but as the prices continue to drop, I think we'll do much better on the next round. Last night there was a nice one in Phoenix with a reserve of $1k. By nice I mean little to no rust and it runs out nice and shifts smooth. Don
