W123 Hood Hinges

I poked around and saw some info about removing some kind of dowel part to get the hindge to release from the fender. My hinges are both broken on a 300CD. The hood will go to full virtical without any stopping along the way. I can see some parts are broken/missing. Can the hinges be replaced easily? Are they available or are the repair parts available for the things? Any part numbers known?
Thanks for any advise.

I know that the springs are real easy to change, once you have the hood all the way open vertically, they just unhook. Once you have done that, go and clean out those pockets, they collect alot of crud and there are some drain holes that need cleaning as well.
I really wouldn't worry too much that you can open your hood all the way. You won't bump your head on the grille that often that way.

They are pretty easy to replace. I would suggest totally removing the hood to start then just unbolt the old ones and bolt the new ones in. Couple fasteners are kinda pia to get to but again, a pretty straight forward job. Mark circles around the hood bolt holes using a Sharpie to help you get it all lined up during installation. Having someone there to help hold the hood makes the job go easier. Check with Fastlane/Partsshop at the top of the page to price em out. If there is any rusted/dirty areas in the hole that the hinge folds down into make sure you address that while everything is out of the way.
