Help needed on W210 606 !!
Hey guys,
A few months ago I replaced the tensioner shock and belt. Now it looks like the spring needs to be done too...shock rattleing, belt squealing etc... and I need this car for my holiday travel!! What is the best prcedure for doing this on the 606? Can the spring just be stretched out of and into place? Do I need to remove the whole tensioner mechanism? Help is appreciated!! Thanks.

See post about fan clutch, this is easy on the 603 (I assume the 606 is the same).
The spring tends to break just about in the center. Top half stays put, bottom half will be in the splash pan. Peter
