Voltage Regulator

I had to jump start my son's '82 300D last weekend and Since then my "87 300d has had the alternator light on very faintly and the battery (new last year) would not hold a charge.

I ordered a voltage regulator (24.00 w/shipping) and it just arrived. I put it in (two screws) and started the car. The light is out!! The old regulator's brushes were about 1/8 inch long so I guess it needed replacement anyway.
here.

Thanks,

Joe
