ZDMAK is one of my favorite tool vendors on e-bay. Good to deal with, although shipping is sometimes a few days longer than I'd like.

I tried to buy one a couple of weeks ago from him, and got an immediate response back stating that they weren't aware of the listing and didn't have the product in stock. I am surprised the listing was still up...

I'm tempted to buy one but I already have one that'll clean just the threads. If it doesn't matter if the crud falls into to PC and cylinder, I could just use a stiff wire brush like one found in a gun cleaning kit to clean the GP port.

I think the idea of the reamer is to remove any carbon deposits that may short out the plugs themselves before their time, so cleaning just the threads would have little effect. Some folks use grease on the cutting blades, or you can use a shop vac after cleaning. The pic is of the one I have.

The GP reamers remove hard carbon deposits and a brush is not a substitute.

Thumbs down

ZDMAK gets a big thumbs down from me. I ordered nearly $2k in tools from a competitor, due to a prick they had on the phone that day. Wouldn't give up his name from the get-go, seemed too busy to help, etc. VERY poor PR.

VERY unprofessional in helping me find my parts and getting my items ordered.

Never again.

I got my 4 pronged socket for rear wheel bearings from ZDmack. no problems. I did not go thru Ebay, though, just thru their website.

I got a very nice homemade one for $20(shipped) from a member here named Diesel911. Works very well and within my budget. He has a pic on the parts 4sale-sorry can't find the link- but it listed on 11-21-07

Glowplug reamer tool for MB

Glad to report that I was able to talk to ZDMAK today by phone tollfree and things should be straightened out now. He says I should receive delivery in about 6 days. He is quite difficult to get in touch with but seems to be a nice guy.--As for reaming out the glowplug holes---my understanding is that the heater portion of the glowplug gets coated with carbon making it difficult to remove after the threads are no longer engaged. additionally the carbon will absorb the heat making the gp less effective .Replaced mine already. #1 and #2 seemed to be the only ones mildly stuck . that's when I decided that I needed the reamer. I will be redoig the job as soon as the reamer is delivered. will report as to how it goes Thanks to all, Willie
