Miss Doris

I picked up Miss Doris today, I call her that because the previous owner's name was Doris, as it is written on the drive side door. She is not with us anymore, this 1984 300D is first diesel Benz with 76K original miles. I have a friend with a 1985 300SD I think it is the 126 body with a bad motor, how much of the stuff from that model inter change with my car. The rear passenger window is broken on Miss Doris.

What about the engine: is the 300SD engine the same on the 300D?

I would like to dress up the engine bay starting with the valve cover, if they are the same I was going take one from his motor and have it "hydro print" with corbon fiber affect.

What other engine component can interchange, my friend is going to part it out. I figured I can get as much as I can from it and save them for future use.
