1983 240D valve adjustment..

My dad took his 240 in for soem routine maintenance today.

The mechanic said it sounded a bit "off" and decided to take off the valve cover and inspect.

Unbeknownst to me or my dad(we never drove a 240 before) the valves were real tight.

The mechanic wondered"how the hell we drove around with a car that slow". I told him we had nothing to compare it to, just assumed it was a slug. He adjusted the vavles and I tell you it made a huge difference. The engine is smoother, and the it got to 60-65 a lot faster than before, with lots to spare, or so it seemed.

Anyway, oil and filter change, both fuel filters replaced, valve adjustment, tires rotated, valve cover gasket, and some other minor thing, 184.00 parts and labor.

I think my indy is pretty fair.
