Query, holmes... 1980 W123... dome light and brake wear indicator

Ash here:

So I just had my cluster out to suss the tripmeter issue I've been having... cleaned stuff up, but didn't find the zinc gear loose... so we'll see if my attention alone fixes it... anyway:

The dome lights, both of them, are no longer working. didn't pull the battery lead, but didn't have any troubles or sounds that would tell me I might have blown a fuse... haven't checked them yet, and I will... but what does the wiring behind the cluster have to do with the dome lights? Grr.

#2 My brake wear indicator is on at startup and goes out with throttle application? The linings are good in front and brand new in back (where there aren't any sensors, so nevermind that ). It HAS been staying on longer and coming on while I'm driving. Replace them? Allll of them?

Thanks a ton, y'all.
