Another 300SD question

it seems I have found what I'm looking for. It's an 84 300SD. Looks good on the outside. Could use paint. The interior has a few blemishes, but everything works. It shifts and runs well. Pulls strong without smoke. Tires are allright, brakes etc. everything nice.
It has all of 375000 miles on it. The owner wants 1500. Do you think it's a wise investment? Given that the car won't be driven hard, or all the time, as I have my porsche for that. Just a daily driver get to work type car. Work is 9 miles each way.
