broken inside rearview mirror W123...cannit be fixt?

Yesterday something got caught and broke the inside read view mirror out of it's base...and in trying to get the mirror to "snap back" into the base, the base itself broke free (it seems to be one of those spring loaded fixtures meant to break away if your head hits it during an accident).

Has this happened to anyone? Is there a fix? Thanks

Relax, it's not broken that is how it is meant to be removed. Grease the opposing spring loaded pins where they contact the sheetmetal and push it back up to snap it back in.
