Too much heat!!!

Last fall I requested help because of too little heat in my '84 300TD. I replaced the monovalve with good success. Now, as the weather is warming up I have another problem. I get heat with my thermostat set on 18 on a warm day. I have to go almost to max to get fresh air. I'm pretty sure my Air need to be charged but that shouldn't keep the warm air flowing should it? What is going on now?

Stabbing in the dark,

I wouldn't say the HVAC system is one of my strong points but what I'd guess your problem is, is just a bad hose going to the temperature sensor on the dash. The foam just deteroriates to nothing so who knows what temperature the CCU is seeing.
