Jerry rigging my AC? (1980 300D)
Hey all.
So I don't know anything about the condition of my AC compressor, dryer, condenser, etc... not sure whether the system is pressurized, either. I suspect it's not impossible that the whole Kitten Caboodle is fine, save it's connection to the now defunct ACC Servo. Is there any way to convert the AC to a manual switch? I bypassed my ACC servo and added a valve in-line. The heat is thus controlled by the position of the valve. Doesn't it seem like I could rig it so that the AC could be switched on and off manually? I'm not very experienced with AC systems, so any insights will be way appreciated. I'm also going to read up on AC system basics in my new copy of 'Modern Automotive Technology', which I got on Ebay for $6.50. Ash
