turn engine w/ glowplug & injector pipe removed

following this thread
glow plug reamer - pic

I'm about to turn over my engine with the glow plugs out and the injector piping off, but ... I'm afraid that maybe I have to reconnect the injector tubing, or can I just put rags and catch the mess?

Any advice before I make a mistake??

A rag over the injector tubing is sufficient

I didn't wait for an answer, but if someone later on does a search, the answer is, that a rag placed over the unconnected injector tubing is suffiecient while the engine is turned over to try to blow carbon out of the empty glow plug holes.

You just need to loosen the injector pipes, not completely remove them. A rag at the loose ends of the pipes will catch the spilt fuel.

I removed the injector pipes so that I would have room to get a wrench in and pull out the glow plugs.
thanks.
