LF&RR window fuseA on 1983 300SD

I have 1983 300SD. I hace searched the forum and cand find specific information on how to trouble shoot LF and RR window not working. When it first happened I went to the fuse box and wiggled The appropriate fuse A which is is one of 4 square aluminum boxes which appear to be relay/fuses. After removing and replacing wiggling etc. the windows worked for a while, then quit again. I then switched fuse A with Fuse B and it worked for a while again and quit, so I switched them again moving all 4 identical switch boxes around. The LF and RR Fuse position A continued not to work, ie the windows don't move. with any fuse, but all the others worked in the other places. I tried to get a look at the fuse holders and look at the wires coming in but the main box has wiring harnesses coming in in all directions and it looks impossible to see into the bottom of the box. Should I check the switched on the console for power . I would assume by these symtoms that there will be none.
Is ther an easy way to inspect the wires leading to the fuse holder(female pins), then find out which pin and wire supplys power to the console switch on fuse A . Also on this model , If I must checkconsole switches, is the removal as I read," thru 2 screws under the ashtray and slide wood panel holding all switches to rear of car? Any help will be appreciated as it is getting hotter each day and the aircon doesn't work either, of course.
