123 upgrade evaporator
I've read that the evaporators in the 123 cars (especially later - 1985) had cores that were not that good a quality - they leak a lot? Anyone know if the replacements are any better made? Thanks Steve

The problem with some of the factory evaporators of that era is that they are two different metals, copper and aluminum. These metals expand and contract at different rates which sometimes leads to leak at a joint between these dissimilar metals.
There are all copper or all aluminum units available on the aftermarket that are indeed an upgrade over the original. Have a great day, |

Larry - would ACKits have the upgrade?
Also - was that a parallel flow evaporator OR condensor? Thanks Steve |

Anybody have trouble (performance wise or leakage) with aftermarket evaporators?
