Water Injection - 300SDL

Once again, I am thinking about water injection on my 300SDL. After searching the archives, nothing meaningful came up.

I know that post turbo water injection will decrease the temp, and by earlier results with gas powered engines, increase performance. For the naysayers - what do you think happens to the liquid (or vaporized) water when it is superheated in the combustion chamber? IT EXPANDS! Actually much more that fuel ...

So, has anyone done any work in this area, as I hate to waste time reinventing.
