Exclamation 05 E320 CDI For Sale in CA!!!

I was browsing this morning's Sacramento Bee Auto section when I did a double take. There is a 2005 E320 CDI for sale at MB of El Dorado Hills (30 miles East of Sac on Hwy. 50). I immediately called my sales guy and confirmed it. 8,500 miles on it. (Sorry, didn't get the price.) They got it from their sister dealer in Reno, NV. For those of you wondering what the big deal is, the CDI is not offered for sale NEW in CA. This could be a real find for a CA diesel head wanting to drop some $$ on a new CDI.

If anyone's interested, you can reach the dealer at 916.567.5100. My sales guy is Mike Sabbagh. He's a staight shooter and a cool guy.

Are they soft?

For that price, I could get a nicely equipped E500.

Mike told me, "If you know anyone, tell them to make an offer."

$63k! It must be loaded! I have seen a few new ones in the low $50k range. I could buy one run 8k miles on it and make $10k, hmm that sounds like a nice deal.

I would wait for 3-4 years before buying a CDI. The W211 has only been around for 2 years and it seems better then the W210 but is still not proven. The CDI engine is still new in this country.

I know I saw a CDI at MB of North Haven for just shy of $50k sticker. Maybe because they are hard to get in CA and the market wants them. If someone had the money they could buy a pair of E320CDI's and run 8k on them each. Then take them to CA and make a nice $20k profit. Plus you get 16k free miles. Not a bad way to drive make the car pay you.

Talking Used CDIs in California

There are a number of used CDIs available here in California.

Get on the AutoTrader site and you'll be surprised.

Try: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/index.jsp?advanced=y&certified=&isp=y&search=y&lang=&search_type=used&make=MB&model=E320CDI&start_year=2005&end_year=2006&min_price=&max_price=&distance=0&address=92562

Price on that Sac. car is now $60K. It is the highest priced one I know of in California! There are a couple in San Diego for less.

The trick is to go out of California and buy a used one and then bring it into California yourself, and cut out the extra money these local dealers are asking and evidently getting.
The DMV rules say used is any vehicle that has more than 7,500 miles.
There is a car in San Diego that is priced at $3K more than it was at the Colorado dealer that had it for sale for months.
It's the only used one that I know of in the country that has the Panorama roof. Price at $56.9K
