I was referring to the process of measuring radial runout of the flywheel after it has been mounted . It is described in the 1985 617.952 FSM first chapter I believe. It has to do with the adapter plate. I'll look it over later and try to copy it onto the page here.
My flywheel was match balanced to the old Auto flywheel. I could not locate a notch or mark anywhere, but i marked it myself before removal. Replacement flywheel is mounted in the same position balance wise.

Intermediate flange runout not flywheel runout
I was mixed up. The FSM has a procedure for measuring the runout of the intermediate flange. It can be adjusted.
