Good Cheap Hex set
I have no interest in the company. I bought a set of these hex bits and used the 14MM to Electric Impact wrench off my VERY tight Diff filler. The tool worked great with no apparent damage to it and none to my car. The 5MM I used to remove a very tight attachment screw on the door jamb latching thing. This screw was starting to strip from me trying to remove it with a regular hax wrench. I tapped the hex socket lightly and loosened it up easily with the new tool. Although made in some Asian country, the tools seem pretty good for the home mechanic. |

Thanks for the review and your opinions, always looking for good/cheap tools for my junkyard toolbag.
These look like the Hazets I have, I'll bet Hazet renames these?

Just as a suggestion
Don't ever use Craftsman hex bits. I used what I believe was a 10 mm hex bit when replacing the front rotors and it just snapped in half. The problem I believe was that they actually made part of the actual hex part of the metal slimmer than 10 mm, until the end which was 10 mm. So the metal hex portion wasn't all 10 mm, only at the end. But I do use other Craftsman tools.

The word cheap and good use to not fit together. But with the hudge investments being done in China and other low wage countries in CNC milling machines and other state of the art manufactureing equiptment if decent materials and proper heat treating is done there are some pretty good tools now to be bought for prices that were only for total junk not long ago. I notice the quality looks better every time I go to an outlet such as Harbour Frieght. This trend will probably do away with Anerican made mid priced tools before long.Knects Auto Parts here in the West are selling dandy hand tools I have put some of their scokets to the test.....

yup they look to be a good set. In my line of work where I use nothing but hex's I use the craftsman most of the time but do have a very good s&k set also. I use these 2 name brands mostly do to when there worn, I go get them replaced *free* so I don't have to buy a set every 3-4 months, and the same with T-handles hex's. thx for letting us know how they worked out for ya.

I bought an identical set at a local place for $12.95. The quality is alright. They do fit well. I've only had to use them so far on my brother's 190D harmonic balancer and idler pulley bracket.
Thanks David
