driver's side head rest
1995 E300 D This past week the head rest refuses to move up or down.Is there a fuse I am missing?,all fuses in the fuse box appear to be good,I have given them a spin to make sure they are making good contact,Some idea's to help me repair this will be greately appreceated.

Listen carefully - are you hearing any noise in the seat when you activate the switch? If yes, then the problem is probably the $16 plastic rack-and-pinion assembly inside the seat back. If no, the problem may be with the switch on the door panel, another common problem.

I agree with Kestas, but would add that if you can move the headrest up and down by hand (easily), then the headrest may have become disconnected from the assembly, in that case move the headrest switch "up" for a few seconds, then try forcing the headrest downwards to snap it back in to place.
