I've been wanting to tell this story for a while but have forgot to.
About a month or so ago, I was traveling north on Rt. 495 just outside Boston. I noticed ahead of me in the 4 lane northbound a flat bed ramp tow truck speeding along at about 75 mph. He had a car up on the ramp, and a car in tow with the front raised and the rear wheels turning on the road. The towed car was an early model 300E, maybe an 86-87 or 88. What caught my attention more was that there was smoke coming out of the exhaust! As I speed up to catch up to him, Yup, thats smoke alright, and as I began to pass him I got a closer look and this time I could see steam pouring out of the grill! I looked at the driver and desided I wasn't gonna get involved as he looked like a real red neck, choking down on his cigarette and in a big hurry. I figured by now he had already blown the engine, or done much damage to that car and it was probably too late anyway! Obviously the car had been left in gear, maybe in reverse too, who knows? I thought to myself what an idiot-moron this guy had to be! The car did have a current plate on it and I wonder if it was being towed to get repaired!

He probably had the car running to circulate fluid while in tow.
The car would not get much air directed through the grill to the radiator being pulled by a tow truck with a car on the rollback bed. Then it ran hot. |

You can tye the vehicle registration in with the V.I.N # ...
and even in Mass. the idiot behind the wheel of the rollback should have had a license plate. Lots of unpaid legwork... except next time it might be yours or mine M.B. being dragged. |

Be careful it only legal to shoot tow truck drivers in seven states and none of them are in the East............
