need help identifying and sourcing this exhaust part.



this guy is cracked and completely broken apart. I've looked through every catalog online and the FSM and can't find it. is this the exhaust adapter? should I just try to find a used one locally?

Well if is is similar to the 300D turbo exhaust, there are only two pieces, the down pipe with the flexible top end and the big main pipe with the muffler and resonator. If you don't wish to replace it, I would go to a local muffler shop and see if they can't weld in a new section.

welding a new piece in is an option but it should be a piece that works with those two clamps, otherwise the turbo is effectively welded to the exhaust. I'll see if that's possible.

Junk yard. All SDs have them. Others from cars with 617 may have them also. That part isn't frequently broken.

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.
