Co2 IC cooling
It's been talked about on every other "performance" forum (non-mb related, at least)
Anyone ever thought about it. Our MBs don't have all to much room for a proper sized IC, and this is cheap HP (upto 65ish HP has been talked about)

Cold air does not produce more power, it allows more fuel to be safely injected. You can get the air as cold as you want but it won't make any power difference until you set the fuel rate to match the higher air density.
Personally I'd prefer nitrous injected into the intake after the intercooler. As it expands it super cools the air and has the added benefit of being an additional oxygen source. CO2 costs about $3.00 per lb to refill and it only provides cooling. Nitrous is about $3.50 per lb to refill, it cools the air, it provides a big HP boost if you have the fuel to burn with it AND it can be sprayed onto the intercooler the same style as CO2. Nitrous is an all-around better deal, IMHO. |

top gear had a vid , they had nos on a tdi, it made a big difference
isnt colder air like more psi, its more oxygen rich so it can act as psi to go with more fuel?? to a extent ! and hitting nos will give a psi boost into the intake ? have the purge line blow on the IC

That was Fifth Gear and their video is very misleading. Nitrous alone will give no power boost but Fifth Gear didn't say what fuel source they use or how much they use.
