Om617.95 Performace question

Do you need any modification when placing a W115 intake manifold, and can it possibility be intercooled with the stock turbo, it looks like a tight fit but will it???? What are the odds of finding a w115 intake manifold, My local European Junkyard don't have any. The purpose of this question is i am about to install an intercooler and increase my fuel a little to give abit more power, I am aware that i need a pyrometer but its just too expansive for me and dont really know how to instal them maybe i could install into the egr pipe but will that be accurate???

The W115 manifold is bolt-in and makes installing an intercooler much easier than with the stock manifold since no cutting/welding is needed. There is one on eBay right now.

The EGR pipe will not work. Its a tube and the temperatures it sees will be much lower than the main flow. The pyro must be installed before the turbo inlet or at an exhaust port. You will have the manifold bolts off anyways to install the intake so then would be the perfect time to drill and tap the exhaust manifold. Search the forum, there are several pictures showing the proper location.

so the w115 intake bolts right on just like the stock manifold? have you noticed more low end power from having the longer runners?

I made one to fit my 616 and its great. I still have the off boost torque from the long runners and now good access to the turbo and later the ease of fitting an intercooler.

FWIW, the flat non-turbo W123 manifolds will fit with a VNT as well.
