Auto Transmission Mods

I have a friend in the performance transmission business, I've been talking to him about "loosening up" a torque converter for me.

Seems my '87 300D launches out of boost, I'm thinking a couple-hundred RPM higher stall speed will help me to launch in the boost and significantly help the 0-20. It'll likely hurt the top-end a little, but with a 2.65 screw it won't be much.

The '87 190Dturbo seemed to develop more power off-the-line with 2.65 gears, might be a TC difference.

I don't want to re-gear, and I like the auto-tranny, any thoughts on the TC change?
