98/99 om606 dimensions?
I have been thinking about a swap for my M Coupe and the best replacement I have been able to come up with would be an om606 from a 98/99 e300. Does anyone know the dimensions? The engine bay for the car will allow for 30" between the shock towers, 30" deep from the support to the firewall and around 24" tall for the current motor. I have understated all dimensions; probably ~2-4" additional for each dimension at worst.
Somewhat related, has anyone ever thought about an adapter plate to mate up a 5spd? The car already has a pretty common 5spd ZF tranny in there... I don't think I mind the auto though. Thanks, any insight is greatly appreciated.

The 606 is 34" long from the bellhousing to the front of the fan and 27" wide from the widest part of the intake manifold to the outside of the turbo. It kind of lays over on it's side so height probably isn't an issue.

Purely from memory, height wise from bottom of oil pan to top of valve cover the 606 has to be closer to 36" than 24".

Measuring at the front of the engine, just behind the mechanical fan and to the right of its shaft, from the "inside" of the sound encapsulation panel to the top of the crossover tube, my 1996 OM606 NA engine is 28 inches high. I don't know how that compares with the later turbo engines but at least it's a data point.
