automatic 5 speed (w210) useable in my w201??

Hi all!

Recently i bought an om606 turbo from a damaged w210, with all the accesories like automatic 5 speed transmission.

I would like to know how difficult it is to use the auto5speed in my 190. Off course I plan on dropping in the om606 as well.

But i've heard that the 5speeds have some more electronic sjit, which makes them more difficult to use in a 'simpler' setup.

Anyone any info?

Thanks in advance!

The five speeds are totally electronically controlled. As is the W210 turbo OM606. If you bring over the entire wiring harness and ECU's it'll work just fine. Otherwise you can take the IP off of an OM603, and a normal mechanically controlled transmission and it'll work just fine. You'll have to turn the IP up to get the same performance as the OM606 gets.

If you decide to use an OM603 pump, I'm interested in buying the OM606 electronic pump...

Best of luck!

The 5 sp tranny would be a huge PITA to adapt and control. The coolest would be a manual 5 sp!

Oh, and I have a good used OM603 3.5l injection pump that I'd be willing to trade you for the electronic version...

If you keep the eng/trans together you'll need the key's and ign (DAS system) too; along with lots of associated eng/trans sensors that the ECU will be looking for input from.
