can i remove the egt and air plate on 602
i am fairly new to newer emission gunked motors of the 90s and today, but i was wondering if i could remove the egt and air flap just and put block off plates in? would this hurt performance at all ? or will the computer get all screwy? i have a 92 2.5 turbo 300d . i realize i would have to plug the vacumn lines going to these 2 devices. any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks again

you mean EGR?
yes. you can. I forget if this year has a computer for emissions... but you want the flap in the air filter housing always open. (ie.. complete removal of the plate / flap) |

No. On the '92, the computer controls boost, and if there's no EGR, I believe no boost.
Do a search of "vacuum wastegate" and you should find several threads on the subject.

Do a search on here for "pressure operated wastegate Mod" and you will find all the info you need to get rid of the problems associated with that models egr and air flap and improve the reliability/power of your 602.

EGT = Exhaust Gas Temperature, AKA: Pyrometer gauge. You want that!
