Hmm.....

I thinkthe O/P was looking for a Trans that will put up with a Tuned Up OM.606 which could well develop up to say, 600 BHP....

A 'Standard' 605/6 trans may well fit and work, But not for long at Those powers!

If you try to get 600hp at that engine, you have over 800nm.
right size turbo 900nm. There is no bolt on transmission what can handle that.

Glose ratio Getrag at 2.3/2.5 16v can handle over 700nm.

So, we're looking at a Mercedes-Benz 2.5 Cosworth 5 speed gearbox....?

Hi Jeemu!

So, the Getrag from W124 2.3 16V is pretty good?

A 722.3 auto tranny will work fine, no electronics required. A plain 722.3 will handle the output from a stock or maxed-out OM606 (175-225hp) without mods. If you want 400-600hp (which I doubt, as you didn't specify this in your original post) then you'd need the 722.3 rebuilt with SL600 internals, which should take the power; and it would be a bolt-in. BlueRidgeMB in Atlanta can build one for you with Kevlar clutches, etc but it wouldn't be cheap.

I'm not sure what manual trans would hold up behind 400-600hp but for ~200hp, there are lots of options.
