I think I am going to go that route with a s200g turbo.
My current thinking is to set the valve to get the turbo to come in when I want it to and control it with EMP. The internal wastegate will control boost limits. I do not like the two piece valves (where the shaft and butterfly are two separate pieces), and have been thinking of how to build a one piece valve into a spacer plate. I am almost ready to sit down and start the drawing phase.. OEMs are using this method to improve low end turbo performance, so it is not an unknown thing. I think it is the best of both worlds if set up properly, (early boost with high turbine flow capability) I have not seen anyone using one on a MB of any kind. I will post what I come up with. |

I just bought a 617 block with the wagon head and will be altering the head for better air flow, and using the prechambers after drilling them out to larger than my current altered ones. I think I'm going with a td05 turbo and 3 inch exhaust as well- but want it to spool sooner. My OM648 is awesome with that in the CDI; it pulls hard from 1300rpm on up. The td05 doesn't have a divided housing so I don't think I can go that route of the quick spool valve. 24 volt electric supercharger? IDK but ...

they do if the spring is old and sloppy. what he did makes more boost, but also makes better boost cause the wg leaks less.. which equates into faster spool.

Quick spool valve requires a divided inlet turbo, which the 617 does not have. |
