I already said it. Propane and nitrous should get it done. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it during testing. Please video if someone does.

this has been quite entertaining to say the least. surprised how many people responded.

With something as controversial as huge horsepower out of a 616, it is somewhat important to keep the conversation focused on what's physically possible on *this* planet in case a teenager in the future starts Googling how to make huge horsepower out of a 240D and runs across a thread like this and actually takes it seriously, only to be seriously disappointed with the results.

Of course it's also fun to troll the troll into trolling himself! :P

There was a old forum post somewhere about a 616 turbo'd and making 240hp I think...so not that far fetched...as long as the bottom end holds you just need air and fuel...

From what I've read, nitrous on a pre chamber diesel engine will blow the pre chambers apart.

Well it was fun while it lasted.

Until next time...

I figured that. The posts had sentence structure that too good for someone "out there" . There were too many trigger words like " Million Mile Engine " and " 2 year lube tech "

The HP claims might as well have been 1,000 HP as they are well beyond hopeful.

of course its possible to make more than 500hp from a 616. its just a matter of how much you are willing to spend. forged rods from Pauter, forged pistons from Wiseco or JE, ceramic coated pistons and chambers by Swaintech, custom billet crank from SCAT, Dart ductile sleeved block, 8mm super-stroker dieselmeken pump, custom manifolds from Wilson manifolds or Stainless headers, compound turbos, custom cam from Colt cams, and larger valves from Supertech. plus plenty of little custom bits and bobs. you could likely get over 600 from that set up, now for the low low price of ~30K$ or more. the only reason not to is there are better architectures to start off of. the only reason i chose to stick with the 617 architecture is for the challenge and satisfaction from actually getting real power after all the custom work needed.

From the photos, it appears not to even be a 123! Look at the dash, and the door molding. Probably a 124. You would think that he would have at least pirated photos of a 123!

You guys beat me to it. That was the hilarious part... the photos are clearly of a 124 chassis, but the thread it was "borrowed" from was titled 123. Our friend living under the bridge apparently doesn't even know the difference between the two (well, besides that the 124 is "one louder" than the 123.)
