If I can make an other sugestion...
Some of the guys from the TDI club (I used to have a TDI) are getting together this coming weekend in NH.
I spoke with people who are hosting a GTG at their house to see if they would mind some Mercedes Diesels along with VW Diesels and they said... "the more the better"...
So if any of you would like to take a road trip to NH there will be good time had by all....
This is the thread from the TDI Club...
Hope to see you guys there.

Lets get serious:

October 7, 2006 (sat) at Colt State Park. (With a rain date of Sunday the 8th)

Time about 10am-11am start, finish whenever.

Kyle is it possible you can find us an address we can mapquest, and maybe sudjest a particular lot for us to gather?

Is it possible to bring food?

Thanks for the TDI club sudjestion but NH is a bit far for some, and notice at least for my crazy schedual is way to short. I have to work this coming weekend.

My SDL will be there. I'll see who else's arm I can twist in my local area.

How does this sound???

For any of the new guys who have never been these GTG's are worth coming to. No one ever complains about being bored!

Hmm

Here is the website with directions/address:
http://www.riparks.com/colt.htm

Also, all parking areas are within view of the road passing through the park. Last time the first few guys who got thee congregated around the entrance, and then found a suitable lot that all could go to.

Its a beautiful place with a nice view of the water.

No promises as usual, but I'll try!

The car could use a nice drive on the freeway after being a 100% city car....

Colt State Park is a great spot by the way...

Looking forward to joining you on Sat with the "new" '95 E300D. Thanks to all your good advice, I found a nice one after a several month search. It will be great to finally meet many of you in person.

BTW, our company had a couple of events at Colt State Park. You won't be disappointed. It is beautiful. From what the person who organized one of the events tells me, the sites are first come first serve. However, there is one site called "The Shelter" which can be reserved in advance for $35. I think it's the only permitted site available. The Shelter site has a roofed pavillion in case it rains, the best access to the rest room facilities, and a beautiful ocean front view.

FWIW,
Wittenberger

Jack,

Your place looks awesome. Just came across pics from your June GTG. Imagine, I didn't even own a Benz then.
Colt is nice but something about that drive the East Bay gets me feelin' claustrophobic.

Thanks for your generous offer BTW.

T
