S500 Feedback Please

I am going to purchase a used 2000-2003 S500 the first quarter of next year. Can anybody tell me of any special inherent problems I should look for or try to avoid by year, mileage, optional equipment, etc?

Also, is this body style officially considered a W220? Any of your experience with this model in the target year(s) is greatly appreciated!
