I have Adobe Acrobat 0.6 installed but the CD is telling me it needs the Active X which is on the CD. Can someone tell me how to retreive this file from the MB CD? File name is ar32e301.exe. THANKS

Try This

These older model year manuals on disk were not designed to be forward compatible. The Ar32e301 it's asking for is Acrobat Reader version 3. It should be on the Cd in the 'Acrobat Reader' folder.

You could open that folder and install the old version to make the cd happy but I would not.

The following is what I found on my '80s 107 Cd. Your's should be similar.

If you open the CD in 'Windows Explorer' NOT 'Internet Explorer' and navigate to the 'Program' folder you should find a file named 'Matrix6.htm' . Double click on that file and it should launch the opening menu.

If that worked, then you have at least two options.

1. Copy the whole program folder to a new CD and then write a new 'Autorun.inf' (found at the root of the CD) to point the \program\matrix6.htm' .

2. Create a shortcut in explorer favorites that points to Matrix6.htm, use that to start the program and just close the failed auto start up each time you insert the disk.

-- If your cd does not use the Matrix6.htm as the opening page then you may have to install the old acroreader just to 'see' what the first file is. Then you could go back and reinstall the latest Acrobat.

-- Maybe someone with your exact model version can provide the first menu filename found in the address bar..

I had the same problem with my 124 manual. Try setting up a shortcut on your desktop to run the file opening.htm

Or, if you have a Mac, you can just fish around for the actual Acrobat files you need. There is usually an index on one disk so you won't have to look at ALL of them.

The index will run under OS X 10.2 under Safari, but you still cannot access the actual file, have to do it manually.

I hate MicroSoft.....

Good thread! I had the same problem. Typing "d:/program/126avi1/htm" without the quotes into my browser address starts the disk for me.

Thanks Randy A

..for the useful information.

My current .inf file looks like this:
---------------------------
[AutoRun]

OPEN=ShelExec \index.htm
[autorun.x86]
OPEN=ShelExec \index.htm
---------------------------

Before I edit the .inf file I want to make sure the following syntax is correct:
---------------------------
[AutoRun]

OPEN=ShelExec \program\matrix6.htm
[autorun.x86]
OPEN=ShelExec \program\matrix6.htm
---------------------------

Does that look correct?

TIA!
