1980 300D parts car
Looking to sell 1980 300D due to a cross country move coming up in the next month. Body is straight, very little rust, not noticable. Car actually runs. Is being sold as parts car due to damage to crank at dowel pin site where harmonic balancer attaches to front of motor. Interior average. Minor sagging of headliner at back window. Transmission "slips" occasionally, but improves if shifted manually. I have driven this car 15,000 miles in the past year, but improper install of balancer damaged crank. New left rear caliper and hub replaced w/in past 30 days. New glow plugs. Starts right up. Car has been converted to wvo. Would consider leaving kit in if the price is right. (Greasel conversion kit, with racor filter) Please respond soon if you are interested. I will be forced to salvage if I cannot find a buyer.

$800 for complete car as is
For complete car including greasel kit wvo conversion I would take $800. Less conversion kit, I would take $350. I can e-mail pictures to you, and will attempt to do so tomorrow. I am open to offers. Car is sold as is No warranty. You must arrange pick up/shipping.

Would you sell the greasel kit alone? Is it the same for the 240D of the same vintage? Good luck selling.... sounds like a decent car! If I were closer I'd consider buying it whole just for parts at the WVO kit... Where are you moving to, by the way? I am in IL.

California or Bust
We are headed west. I am not willing to get rid of the Greasel kit w/o getting rid of the car. I was hoping that including the kit would sweeten the deal for someone, which would help me get rid of the car. I really would like to take the car with me, but can't. The kit is universal for all diesels of that vintage. The price on the Greasel kits have gone up significantly since I got mine. So I will use it to convert my 1982 240D if I have to salvage the 300. What part of Illinois are you in? I would consider meeting you somewhere if we could work it out...and coordinate with our move.

Good luck with the move, Dan. I'd love to have that kit, but I'm not even 100% sure I'll have a 240D to put the kit on. I'm in east central IL anyway... WAY out of your way. Good luck with the sale, though. It ought to be well worth that to someone who know what that kit and the parts car is worth.
