For Sale: '94 E420 ///AMG

Guys,
I am selling my beloved E420, I put so much money and work into this car that it hurts to let her go, but I have no choice. Its ’94 E420 (120K) original **polyurethane** ///AMG kit that I had professionally installed and the car painted white all around. Other exterior features: Remus exhaust, white corners, Xenon HID’s 8500, 30% tint all around and 18 inch Brabus wheels. Interior extras include: Special order sport/wood steering wheels from Germany, wood/chrome shifter, chrome/wood shifter cover, chrome air vent covers.

Other notable extras: Renntech chip, E500 front anti roll bar, Viper keyless alarm, 6 disk CD changer, brand new battery, new spark plugs with new wires.

This was my weekend car and up until a year ago she was garaged. Since I had to keep it on the street almost a year you can see that it was bumped and scratched quite a bit but no serious dents. I am taking this into consideration in the price, as the bumpers need to be repainted for it to look perfect.

The car is in perfect mechanical condition; I did not spare any money on this car and absolutely hate to let her go. She drives like a monster, for those of you thinking of a E500, this car is almost as fast and in my opinion looks just as great if not better, especially with the AMG kit and 18 inch rims plus the interior is much more luxurious. You have to sit in it to appreciate. $12,800 neg.

Car is located in Brooklyn, NY. Will post pictures soon.

Considering that I invested over $8000 on mentioned cosmetic and performance upgrades the money it would take to repaint the bumbers is minimal. This is a very solid ride and someone who will appreciatte the work I done can overlook the scartched up bumpers.

Anyway, the price is negotiable I will consider offers.

Thank you
Yury

Battlecat714,
Good question, I will consider all reasonable offers.

BTW:
I thought it would make sence to break down in $ what I paid for upgrades.

The kit/prof. installed and car lower part of the car repainted -$4,500
HID Xenons - $400
Renntech chip - $500
Remus Exhaust - $650
Wood Steering wheel - $850
Chrome knob/shifter/air vents/cover - $200
18 rims + tires - $1200
E500 Anti roll bar - $150
Viper Alrm - $250
6 Disk Changer - $200

That comes out to almost $9000.

Consider these upgrades and the stock car itself is priced well below wholesale value.

If anyone was wondering here is what she looks like with the bumpers in perfect condition

The interior does look pretty snappy...you've convinced me to upgrade the shifter surrounds and vents afterall...but...the cost of performance upgrades does little to improve the final value of a vehicle...at least in my experience as a car salesman...unless someone is specifically shopping for a performance oriented 124...they probably won't care that you've spent 9K in upgrades...especially if they only want to spend 7 or 8K on a car...that and the fact many people...when they see such a tricked out ride will be leary of it...just my 2...best of luck with the car...

finally selling the beast eh yury?

I remember when you had just gotten the car back after doing the kit.

Still looks great as it did.

Very clean car.

I really hate it when people talk crap about the price someone is asking for their car. if people don;t agree with the price fine, but no sense in giving someone crap about what they feel the value of a car is.

Just say the word and I will edit the post for you.

Alon

Thank you Alon for your kind remarks.

Yes after all the work and time and money need to sell her. The car's appearance is by far not perfect on the outside, but this is one solid car, its very fast, it drives great, there is nothing mechanicaly wrong with her and she can go alot more without hitting you in the wallet like newer benzes. With a little money invested she can look show quality.

I agree with you: If you think I am asking too much, go ahead and low ball me an offer, tell me why you think its not worth the money but dont knock on my price when your only intention is to tire kick it.

Guys, like I mentioned if someone likes the car and is interested but thinks I am asking to much, PM me and tell me your thoughts, I will consider all reasonable offers

Thanks to All!

Yury

don't get mad

Hi Jury, don't get mad but my '86 300E looked cleaner than that. You need to really clean that interior, there are grime smudges all over the place (in the seats, carpets, lower dash, pretty much all the grey parts).

I woun't pay more than $8-9 from a private seller.

I can see you dumped a lot of cash in the car, but the bumbers are a real buzz killer. The car looks sharp but those scratches make the whole car look as if you haven't taken care of it. Also, what is with the passanger side headlamp, is that a stain?

I think the car is worth perhaps a bit over the private seller value, but not much. Like that other guy said, don't expect others to pay for your updates.

You will probably get more money out of it if you cleaned it, made it look sharp and removed some of the stuff in it. For instance no one will miss the steering wheel and you can sell it on ebay. Take the HIDs off and the exhaust and sell them on ebay.

IMHO the kit may add $1k at most, the steering wheel $200, shifter $0, swaybar $0, alarm $0, tint $0, xenons $100, exhaust $200, chip$0-??

Good luck man, sometimes it make sense just to keep the car. Particularly if you have dumped so much money in it.

My opinion is the condition is everything, and based solely on the pics, your interior is just average, and the exterior is below average.

Your modifications add no value to the car at all. They never do. Perhaps to the young person who is looking at the car might be excited by the AMG kit or the steering wheel, etc., but what percentage of the buyers would be willing to pay more for the mods? 5%? 10%?.

I'd say the value is around $8K. Tops.

I have a RENNtech chip in my second '92 500E which does make the car feel more powerful at all rpm's. It could be because it also has the RENNtech exhaust and intake but when you step on the gas, there is a stronger push in your back. It also idles much smoother and the top speed limiter is removed.
