'84 300cdt

I have a 1984 MBZ 300CDT that would be ideal for restoration. It has only 62,000 original miles. It has not been registered since '94-95. The person I purchased it from had done most of the work(change fluids etc.) to get it on the road. The Paint is faded, the interior has some sun damage, it has a few vacuum leaks.. so the ac vents don't blow cold (the ac compressor is new and working) it will not turn off with the key. This would be a great project or use it for low mileage parts. Best Offer. I'm just north of Houston, TX. If interested, email kp_rookie@hotmail.com

Sorry, we get that all the time, and without a posting history there isn't that familiarity.
Besides, now you have 2 posts.......

Oh, and since you're now an old pro, walk back behind that CD, look on the trunk and see if you can find that rogue "T", or see if it just says 300CD.......

I get the sarcasm. It doesn't say CDT on the trunk lid, but the title says CDT. I was hoping to clear any confusion... it backfired. I didn't want a dozen people asking if it had a turbo. I am asking $1700

No confusion and you did fine. Some of us eaten up with OCD believe the world rotates better when certain things are "proper". The rogue "T" somehow has become my Kryptonite!
The fact that your CD is an '84 makes it a turbo. Clerical folks added that god-awful "T", engineers gave us the Trunk Badge of Truth!!
Good luck on your sale, and props on your demeanor.

JimmyL, this is my first MB anything. A truly cool car. Wife trouble is forcing me to liquidate anything with documentation. I don't mind humorous banter... in fact I enjoy it. Thanks!

sheesh, quit jumping this guy over a "T." When I had my 300CD, I had to tell each and every dealership, auto parts store, etc. that it was a 300CDT. No, its not badged that way, get over it. Maybe he could learn a little about how to sell a car effectively, but lets get on with life please instead of arguing over a letter.

He can't help it... Don't you know its a mental disorder, like schizophrenia or objectophilia? I just try to help him to avoid another "incident". (I'm the other one in the photo, b.t.w)

Many, MANY, MB owners and enthusiasts (outside the US) refer to a W123 300CD Turbodiesel as a 300CD-T or 300CDT basically to distinguish the car as a Turbodiesel vs. Diesel (non-turbo). In fact when I had my euro-version 1984 300TD Turbodiesel, I often had to refer to it as a 300TD-T (or 300TDT) since a euro-spec W123 wagon was available in both turbodiesel and non-turbo variants in model year '84 (from Germany). You'd be surprised how many people outside the US refer to the W123 Turbodiesels as CDT, TDT, etc...

Many of us know the CDT or TDT isn't the correct nomenclature but I certainly don't have anything against it since the seller (hopefully) stated it that way in order to distinguish it as a true turbodiesel model. Hope this helps in any way... to a "T"

I glad the original poster "gets it" as forum banter. Sorry about the wife trouble! We've all been there. [or are there] Who was that great philosopher who so accurately let us know that "it's cheaper to keep her".....
Weatherford, where to start with you...........
