Funniest FS description ever...? 86' 300SDL

Just saw this 86' 300SDL on ebay. NO Affiliation...

DESCRIPTION: Item number: 180362913549

The question is not whether this car is burly enough for you, but do you have the burl for fine this automobile. It is a Mercedes 300 SDL—yes, a Mercedes freaking Benz, build by ornery, obsessively perfectionist Germans in 1986. This also just happened to be the year of the meltdown in Chernobyl, Mike Tyson’s (pre ear biting) first boxing title, and the year Michael Jackson, Willie Nelson, Tito Jackson, and many other less important musicians held hands while singing “We are the world.” Call it retro or old fashioned, but I call it classy--you can still feel and smell the essence of 1986 in the plush interior.

Next, size does matter. The “L” in SDL, in fact, stands for long. This car is longer than the SD (which is long, too, but not as long). In fact, the SDL is 208 inches long. It is one of the last Mercedes-Benz models that was still easily maintainable and repairable by owners. It was also “featured in Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories, renamed as the Admiral,”according to Wikipedia.

Mileage, you ask, is it high? If cars were basketball players, this car would be Larry Bird: lanky, white, smooth, and it just gets better with age. 318,000 miles are on the odometer. That may seem high, but wait—the odometer is broken! There are actually more miles on it! I’ve owned the car for two years, and the odometer broke about two months after I bought it, so I’m thinking there are probably 340,000 miles now. What fine vintage, no? This car is from California, where I bought it. It might have been owned by somebody famous from Hollywood. Who knows? Famous people drive these kinds of cars.

I’ve put many new parts on this beauty (with receipts): starter, brake pads, tires, rotors, tie rods, stabilizer links, windshield, blower motor, serpentine belt, battery, tires, ball joints, vacuum pump, and steering shocks. Don’t let this scare you. Now, you don’t need to buy them! This car has passed inspection for the last two years.

The best part about this Snow Dragon, Ice Princess, Larry Bird of a machine is that it runs on diesel or vegetable oil. No more expensive fuel costs, if you don’t mind digging in nasty, greasy dumpsters. I’ve been running it on veg for almost two years with no problem. It gets between 25-30 mpg, and cruises on the freeway. I’ve got a Plantdrive system-- extra 25 gallon tank in the trunk, hotfox, vegetherm heater, vegmax heated filter, and a heat exchanger. A switch flips it to veg or back to diesel—so technically it is a hybrid! Wow.

Why am I selling it? New job—I don’t need to commute anymore. I have two vegmobiles now—one is this Mercedes and the other a VW rabbit truck. There are some small rust spots near the corners of the trunk and the sunroof, but nothing major (see pics). I never have issues starting it in the cold, and I would drive this baby to California tomorrow.
