Did someone say Black on Black w/ recaro model C seating

Yeah I've come across that red SL example as well. Interesting but not my cup of tea.

What I'm looking for is quite specific. 1982, 1983, 1984 or 1985 w107 040 black on black interior or 040 black on beige interior, de-chromed, full AMG body kit, AMG suspension, AMG wheels, AMG exhaust and AMG engine mods are a plus. Any rust free examples will be considered running or not, though documentation and records are a must.

Not looking for a show car but rather a driver, one that could be enjoyed more often than not. And in a perfect world, it would be already California registered.

Wish me luck and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your input.

The lack of dechromed black on black examples is only proving the rarity of these. I comb the net daily and have been for too long.

I've been sent links and leads for just about every other model and color combo but the full triple black example still eludes me.

The long and short must have list of my search is as follows:
-1982, 1983, 1984 or 1985 model year 500SL AMG
-040 Black exterior with chrome delete option
-Black interior may consider beige.
-Full AMG appearance package. (Front spoiler, rear apron, side skirts and trunk spoiler)
-Full AMG suspension package. (Front and Rear springs and shocks)

Any additional AMGness is a plus of course.

I prefer a driver. It must be a maintained example with service records and no rust.

When you just have to have an SL and it's got to be a good one, there is one place to go, and that's John Olson's SLMarket site along with the somewhat monthly SL Market newsletter (the classifieds are NOT available on line, only in print).

I've know John for like 5 years and aside from being a very trusted name in mercedes community, he has a keen eye for details when it comes to a great car.

His book "The SL Companion" is a worth a read if you like these cars (107, 129, 113, etc).
