Found a real clean W124 wagon...

http://www.saabofmilford.com/

Sitting in the front row of this Saab dealer. Its black, and driving by looks VERY clean. I'll stop this week and get some details.

http://www.saabofmilford.com/VehicleDetails/454710653

Lets see if this works, according to the site its a 1991 300TE 4matic. Has some miles on it, but it looks real clean.

If there is any issue with the 4 matic or suspension/transmission in general, its better to junk it then fix it...those are the worst MB cars ever build, bar none, most independent MB mechanics will not let you finish what you have to say before showing you the door if you own a w124 4matic.

With that many miles I wouldn't give them more then $2,000 4Matic or not.

Hattersguy, if you like that one you will love this one at lower miles and less than 1/2 the cost:

http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/cto/1270162284.html

I'm in the market for a 300CE, 300E, or 300TE...can't deal with harness, head gasket and evaporator nightmares.

I sold my '95 E320 wagon with 150k on it for 4k. New head gasket, cold AC, and in fairly nice condition.

Seems like a typical overpriced dealer to me, but I'm sure it looks beautiful.

Is that for ALL 4matics or just the 124s?

That's about when my '91 300TE 4matic started causing problems, ... between 3 and 4 years old.

Hopefully it doesn't. He is probably going to keep it another two years, and I want it after that.

I figure I'll let him work all the bugs out, and come in and buy it up for trade in.

Its actualy a southern car because drives it down to his house in FL every December and it doesn't come back until April.

Later 4matics have a different system. Not as troubleprone.

True, the 124 4matic system was an electro-mechanical system built and installed by Styre-Puch, the 210 and later systems are simpler with viscous-couplings and more modern electronics.
