1983 300d excelent shape one owner
The car is currently located in Utah. Here is a link with pictures and details.
http://1985300d.shutterfly.com/ Looking at getting around $5300 for it. Just put $4500 in the drive line repair 2 months ago. Have all records of everything done to the car. The only thing that is not factory is the radio.

Nice 300D and I like the color as well, and you're the original owner! It's ashame you have to part ways. Lots of history and sentimental value there.
![]() I'm trying to dissuade you..... so is it working? ![]() Good luck though, the next owner (if you sell) will be proud. ![]()

I listed it for my father in law. They gave me an 87 in the same shape a couple of years ago. I don't have room for another one and he gave it to us to sell and put the money in a new house we are having built. It is was very hard decision on which one to keep as they both have their good points (coolness).

Are those original wheels? They look slightly different than the stock/original MB wheels.
Very nice car, I hope it goes to a good home.

Those are aftermarket wheels. Many of the grey market cars I've owned have had non factory bundts on them. I've seen at least three discrete variations on the factory design. Most people do not notice until the rims are side by side, the differences are subtle. Most likely the differences are generated to avoid copyright infrigment..... Tip offs in general are the rim contour at the outer edge, the shape of the holes, the ribs between the lug bolts and the ribs between the vent hole can be slightly off. Could have been a dealer installed option, or maybe the original owner replaced the rims later in the car's life for cosmetic or other reasons. But stock, no. Won't find a MB part number on those rims. Jim

Good info Jim, no wonder it looked a bit peculiar... unique in a good way!
![]() So are they still 14x6? ![]()

Can't tell for sure. The one front 3/4 view suggests a 6.5" width looking at the depth of the rim wrt the hub center, but this could just be a because of a different offset. My experience with MB bundts is that the 195/70 tire looks a bit "small" on the 6.5" rim. This car has the correct size tires, and I don't notice the undersize effect in the pictures, so I suspect they are 6". Doesn't matter, looks like the car sold quickly. Very pretty car, glad to see it sell for a decent price. Jim

I checked with the father in law and he had the rims replaced. The old ones were getting a little spotted and he did not like them looking bad. He ordered these through the shop he got the car worked on. He did not realize they were not MB rims. The sad thing is the old rims were not that bad and he tossed them in the trash. At the time he lived in Texas and I live in Nebraska so I was not there when he got them on to tell him just to get the old ones redone or at least give them to someone who would use them. The tires are the correct size.
