1987 190D TURBO ~ one of 1300

Yep, it's got to go. I bought it from the daughter of the lady who's owned it nearly all it's life. The daughter had it the last 8 or so years.

It's old [1987], it's tattered [cheap repaint in '06, fair-poor interior] and it has body damage on the drivers side [now a salvage history title], an exhaust leak, bad front strut bushings, etc...... BUT it's still a 1987 190D TURBO ~ the one and only year available.

It will start immediately and idles decent w/ an exhaust leak at the flex pipe. Currently the vacuum lines are messed up ~ previous owners brother pulled out the windshield washer tank and all vacuum lines too apparently and it's never been right since and was sitting a while before I bought it. I've tried sorting them out and I had nearly everything working properly then in my haste to get it 100% I got frustrated and I'm back at square 1.

I'm DONE. I have absolutely no more time or patience. Also, to add to my frustration, the town has given me a warning about any unlicensed vehicle on the property so I did put a 45 day temp tag on it. Someone come get this little ***** before I do the unthinkable.

Sold as shown in recent photos w/ the 16" CLK wheels & tire which is over half the asking price.

$1000

*NOTE* I'll also sell the '84 Chevy G20 solid panel van ~ 6.2 diesel, *4 speed manual* ~ has dual A/C, power windows, locks and cruise!

Buy it, get it to OH and you part it out

Otherwise, if necessary and before I would junk it, I'll let you know.

Seems like the car is causing a lot of stress but may I ask what else does the car need? A/C, tires, interior, gauges and or anything of the like?

ngarover ~ ? your user name, are you into Land Rovers too?

The van, well I've got about $1500 in it so it would take at least that to buy it. I think I'll throw it up on eBay and watch it exceed my expectations. You'll never find a solid panel w/ a 6.2 Detroit Diesel, factory 4 speed manual, front & rear A/C and power options like this one.

engatwork ~ will do

diametricalbenz ~ There's other stuff causing stress, this little Benz will just be a casualty of it. Just too much going on and I've realized how much these old Benz' can get on my nerves.

It will need restored, to what level depends on your desire. It's all there and would be driver for someone within a few hours I'm sure. I'm a perfectionist so it would be months until I'd call it acceptable. I spent a few hours on my Rover yesterday afternoon and it was pleasurable. Yep, I've lost it

Of course I like Rovers I'm had 4 of them. If you look at my youtube account you can see a few of them including the one I kind of went crazy with...

After I got it running right...

96 discovery FIXED! - YouTube

Running open headers...
rover_open_header - YouTube

Basically, I took that white rover, which had been abandoned at a walmart for 8 months, and totally rebuilt it. New suspension , Custom headers, Custom flowmaster exhaust, new headliner, new computer, new injectors new valley pan gasket, new brakes, AC and on and on and on... I actually might be buying it back soon. (The original owner like it so much when I was done he gave me his 99 E320 Wagon for it.) But he wants my 85 300D so I might swap him back. The head gasket has started to leak on it now, so I'll have to fix that, it's a weekend project that almost a requirement on all the rover engines at some point.

It's because of the rovers I got into MB's... I was thinking of putting a 617 into a rover and bought a couple MB to play with. Now, I own 4 MB's and no rovers... LOL!

1500 sounds fair for the van, any way to get some pictures or video of it?

Cool. I've had more then a few myself, currently an '00 P38 Range Rover and an '01 Land Rover Disco II SE7. I want to find a mint Classic next.

The van ~ I've pretty much put it to bed for the winter but if it gets warm again I'll get it out and take some photos and/or a video. I have some photos now, one I posted on the wagon thread in diesel discussion.

I'll likely just put it on eBay and I think it'll attract plenty of attention.

Yeah but there's NO RUST being from the south and it's a TURBO W201

Good luck, something should turn up. There's a W116 280 in PA cheap.

I wish I had more space in my driveway, but that's not the case. I'll wait for the engine.
Thank you,
Jean

37mm I believe. They're off an '00 or '01 CLK. Perfect offset for the W201. I paid $500 for the set w/ the Conti tires
