1972 Mercedes 0309D Omnibus / Van project for sale!

1972 Omnibus for sale! I've done a good deal of work to it, but it's still a project and needs more attention to make it 'nice.' These buses used to have windows all the way around, but the previous owner removed them and bolted panels over the holes.

Specs: mb309.com

-OM314 non-turbo diesel
-5 speed with Krawler gear
- Dually rear, huge load capacity
- Amazing turning radius
- 55mph top speed (GPS verified!) Proof: Mercedes Bus Driveby - YouTube
- Air over hydraulic brakes
- Power steering

You can see pics of my progress with it here: (It started out white)

PROS:

- Driven regularily, all fluids changed recently. Clutch, brakes, tranny and engine seem to work normally, no signs of issues at this time. Smokes until warm, then smokes as much as a 40 year old diesel Mercedes is supposed to!
- Recent rattle can Portal Paint. Looks nice!
- New 'used' tires all the way around.
- Clutch slave cylinder rebuilt.
- diesel tank drained, cleaned, reinstalled with new filter.
- old floor, walls, insulation ripped out, new floor and insulation begun. (unfinished)
-Turns super tight, runs well, fun to drive! Tons of room inside for activities.
- new rear door and window, big opening for a quad or Haflinger.
- New bumper, brake lights work, headlights work, temp gauge and PSI gauge work, as well as fuel gauge.

Cons:

- Walls, insulation and floor need to be finished
- Some rust issues. (see pics)
- Needs some wiring work to get little things working (signals, hazards dash lights, etc..)
- Loud inside (will get better with insulation)
- Slow! These things are slow. It goes 55, but hills are...slow.
- Speedo isnt accurate.
- Windshield leaks, holes/cracks in glass, roof has some rust holes that leak. I was going to graft in a VW pop top, and that is available if interested.

It's a great van, super rare, draws tons of attention! Probably gets pretty good mileage, but I havent driven it enough to calculate it. I dont need to sell it, but figured I throw it out there for the MB nuts!

Asking $3999 OBO.
Thanks!
