FS '83 300D $3000 OBO - Atlanta
Selling my '83 300D to focus on some other projects. $3000 OBO.
![]() Gallery: https://photos.app.goo.gl/mwkYrxP66qnVM2Tu9 Runs and drives really well, keeps up with traffic with no issue. Heat and A/C work*, pneumatic door locks work, radio works, new brakes, recent half shafts, new oil pan gasket, new water pump. I’ve owned this car for 10 years as a hobby car, but I need to trim the fleet down so I’m offering it for sale. If I had covered parking for it I would keep it. Ultimately it is a 36 year old car, so there are some issues which I’ll try to summarize below: The Good: Original engine, 275k miles on odometer (I believe this to be correct). Transmission rebuilt in 2009, perhaps 10k miles on it since. Braking system completely rebuilt, new master cylinder, new rubber hoses where needed, new calipers, new rotors, new pads. New water pump. Heat and A/C work *there are issues, see ‘the bad’ section Three power windows work, sunroof works, power pneumatic door locks work Interior is in pretty good shape, I believe the seats were redone at some point. E-code headlight conversion done by a previous owner. Drives really well, a good vehicle for Atlanta commuting and coming apocalypse. Relatively easy to work on and most mechanical parts are readily available based on my experience. The bad: It’s got an older paint respray, clearcoat is deteriorating. Could use some spot touchup for a couple of rust spots and paint chips, lots of buffing. Left rear door has a few issues. Difficult to close, window regulator failing/stripped. I’ve tried to address both of those issues and they keep returning. Front suspension bushings are shot, this will need attention. Dash lights are dim due to a flakey rheostat. Turn signals work, but right signal light on instrument cluster does not light up. Cruise control does not work and is not connected. Controlling the heat and A/C is a bit troublesome. You can get cold and hot air, but sometimes it will blast hot air only, and you can’t use the fan on high speed or the fuse will blow. A/C isn’t that strong but is fully charged. Most of the body rubber on this car is deteriorating. Window gaskets, door gaskets, etc. Water has recently started to leak in from somewhere, but I haven’t found the source. I need to focus on some other car projects so need to pass on to the next enthusiast. Happy to answer any questions as best as I can. Thanks! Graham |
