1986 Euro 300SEL for sale

Owned since 2007. Original plans were to put a twin turbo kit in it, but they are impossible to find. Recently moved and the house we are renting doesn't have a garage quite big enough and no longer need such a large car. 115K original miles. Took interior out of a 1990 SEL and started swapping things over. Dash removed, all vacuum pods replaced, new dash installed. Stereo replaced with high end Alpine flip face as seen in pictures. Was going to swap the two passenger doors, but wrong color so took them to my retired bodyshop friend to get painted, but he since passed away and I don't have the skills to paint myself. Tons of extra parts - interior, body, lighting, H&R lowering springs, new shocks, wheels, etc as can be seen in the pictures on the shelves. $2500 for everything. Call or text 484-919-9762 or email markusfmeyer@gmail.com.

With a 1986 300se auto and a 1986 300sel 5-speed both in my collection, this looks tempting to consider, but I must resist the urge.

These s classes with the na six are pretty quick. they carry a fairly low rear end ratio.... 3.69 or lower. They don't weigh all that much more than a 123.

Being a euro it also has the sport/economy (E/S) switch. In sport mode it allows for more crisp, aggressive shifts.

I’ve got a 1986 300se (euro) that came with a long belly pan. Does this car have that feature? It also has the same color interior, but in the older style. These seats (and door panels) you have are nicer IMO. Are the original to the car? Is it surely a 1986? Just curious.

There are things that are very tempting about this to me because I’ve got a bunch of overlapping cars/features in some of mine:
- 1986 300se (blue with gray interior)
- 1986 300sel 5-speed (black with tan fabric)
- 1985 280se 4-speed (black with tan fabric)

Parted out black on black 1989 300se US and still have the doors. I realize the rear door is useless to this vehicle, but wonder why the car would need passenger doors replaced. Bad paint?

Does the car have any rust to mention?

I swapped the interior from a 1990sel into this one, nicer seats, leather and door panels. Replaced the dash and vacuum pods while I was there. I bought a complete SEL and was going to swap the doors because they were dent free, instead of getting PDR done to these doors. No major rust I'm aware of.

Car runs great, engine oil and filter just changed last week, trans and diff fluids, brake fluid and power steering fluid changed, coolant flushed at 100k, as well as shocks, belt, fan clutch, valve cover gasket and tune up done. Battery is a year old.

Straight six motor with tons of room in the engine bay. Has sport/economy mode, putting it into sport mode makes shifts a bit firmer.
