FS: '77 300D W123 Central VA (not mine)
Location: Buckingham County, Virginia (23901 zip)
Asking Price: $8000.00 ($6500 will win it..) Disclosure: NOT MINE I noticed this lovely '77 W123 while driving & had to take a look. This might be the most "all original" W123 I have ever found on a roadside. The seller purchased it from the original owner of whom is his best friend (since died). So it is a 2-owner vehicle. The paint appears to be all original. I climb around the car & could only find little specs of non-structural rust (i.e. dime size here & there around some body trim). The trunk has a bad trunk seal & there was some rain water, but no rust & the window seams all checked out solid. The car runs (needs a diesel purge...), battery was weak & the fuel primer pump was leaking when unscrewed. The interior is remarkably clean & original - even the cool late 70s Becker radio is there. The Speedo was changed out around 40K miles ago due to original being INOP. Car appears to have around 187K sum total in miles. Fern Green throughout. One anomaly I noticed was that the car must be in NEUTRAL on the shifter in order to start. Have not seen that glitch before. . . I made an offer ($6k) but was told 6500. It is extremely tempting... it is so original & not even any rust under the floor carpeting. The current owner spent over $3300 on brakes at a MBZ dealer back in 2011 (go figure....). It will need some freshening but seems quite strong & solid. The current owner is not very familiar with these cars, but he did mention the Widow of the OO is still living. NOTE: I have exterior photos but they won't upload!! 300D is Fern Green Exterior (has to be original paint & faded but solid) + FERN GREEN MBTex Interior - all solid, even the creme headliner & glovebox are great... |

if interested...
I can send the other pics that I have over E-Mail but please send me a PM w/your Email or cell phone number. I can SMS or E-Mail the two pics that I have. The current owner is elderly & I doubt that he will be able to send pictures to you. . .
The more I write about this W123 the more I am desirous of it... very solid 300D. |
