1985 300 SD for sale. $2000

Just replaced front calipers. This starts right up in cold and doesn’t smoke. Probably the best 617 turbo I’ve had. Good tires. Needs paint and ball joints. Got it from original owner. California car. Has the recalled new trap oxidizer. I just registered it with antique tags in Tn to get the title in my name.

Nice interior.

Drive it home. The original sticker price was 40k. Damn cars really went up in 10 years. The original sticker for my 1975 300d was like 7500 if I recall.

I have had these cars for years and just can’t drive them so I’m lightening my load. I can video call if you want to hear it start and run.

I’ll upload pics in next post. Have to make them smaller. The hood was replaced from parts car because it had a flipped open and bent hood hinge on the previous owner. Southern and California car so not rusty.

Awesome. If I were there at home in Indiana I'd be on that.

I bought one just about exactly like that for $1. Had been sitting, sunroof open, for 10 years. Changed fluids and put a battery in it and it ran!

Good luck on the sale.

Sold to me

Sold two other cars so get to keep this one. Down to 1 old mb diesel. This has not happened in well , since I got my second old cheap 300D about 20 years ago. Lol.

It feels pretty good.

I had one of these in an identical color when I was in SoCal. For a moment I thought this might’ve been it, but I think mine was an 84.

This is a great price for anyone looking for a good w126 300sd. I’d buy it if I didn’t already have too many cars. Good luck with the sale!

Windows and sunroof all work. Brakes work good. Just flushed and two front calipers replaced and pads amd front hoses. Tires good. Ac probably not but the heat works amd the fan kicks on automatically when it gets warm and defrosts ok.

Needs ball joints. You can feel them when you break you get that clunk.

How are the seats in the front? Is this made of MB-Tex?

Theseus owned a ship in Greek mythology, and when a part of the ship needed replacing, it was replaced. Eventually, everything was replaced. Is it the same ship? (I own the car of Theseus. )

“Real” mileage of this car is? Central locking is working? Rust condition, esp. floor while the car is on a hoist. Any sign of fluid leaking or engine blow-by (cap test) ,or mice invasion(serious matter)?
