1983 Mercedes-Benz 300CD Turbodiesel
VIN# WDBAB53A2DB003846 Mileage: 189,100 (it's piling up) I'll send you a carfax report if interested. I believe the car has lived all its life in MA. Engine is strong but leaks oil. I never had to add oil into the crankcase in between changes. I have only driven it 3000mi + since I bought it in February. I have had the oil changed three times. The third was because I replaced the oil pan and its gasket. It now has Mobil One Delvac 1300 15W-40 in the crankcase. I put Redline DFC / Power Service Plus or whatever when I can't get Redline DFC. I garage the car. New parts around the engine: Reman. Bosch Alternator, Motor mounts, transmission mount, air filter rubber mounts, A/C Receiver drier, all the A/C temp/pressure switches, fuses, all the fluids have been replaced (ATE DOT4 for brakes, Mobil 1 Synth. ATF for AT, and Prestone coolant), tach sending unit, hood pad, grille insert, air filter, rack damper pin, thermostat, aux. fan. New DieHard Battery from Autozone. I broke the idle speed adjuster pin and my mechanic made another mount and it works perfectly. Interior: 95% perfect wood, wooden shift knob, very clean interior, Palomino in color. One of the vacuum elements under the left seat is leaking so I plugged that line but the seatback locks just fine w/ one element. Sunroof is inoperative - needs a sunroof cable. Left rear quarter window is derailed - probably needs both regulator and motor. The motor still worked last time. Right window goes down halfway (dont know what's up with that one) Central locking works perfectly and vacuum system is perfect too. Passenger side door can't be unlocked/locked using the key. I don't know why. I have bought new keys from the dealer... still wouldn't work. The same with the trunk lock. Pioneer CD Player w/ Pioneer speakers (4" f and 6.5" R) Suspension/Brakes: New Bilstein shocks in the back. The brake line has been fixed (leaked before) Rebuild left rear caliper New rear pads (MB) New front rotors (ATE) New Tie Rods Replaced the Idler Arm Kit Adjusted the steering box (steering is good now) Body New Pilkington windshield and seal New rear glass seal Paint is really good (obviously a repaint) There is some rust under the front windshield that should be taken care of but it doesn't leak water into the cabin from there. The glass guys primered it so it should slow it down. The front lower spoiler has some rust. The floors are solid. It had more but I had them repaired (by welding on new metal plates) and those spots repainted. Since then I have had a few dents taken out too. Misc: Transmission shifts nicely. I don't know how good it's supposed to be but it's pretty good to me. Engine is strong - Starts in the coldest Boston winters instantaneously. Brakes are good. Power Antenna works perfectly (new rebuilt unit from Bekker NA) A/C leaks... I don't know where it leaks from but it works. All the vents open/close correctly. Heat works great though. I have a bunch of extra parts, and I'll throw em in when I sell the car. It's not a beauty queen but it drives and would make a nice daily driver. I bought the wrong car for the wrong purpose. I wanted a garage queen. I have put so much money into it and is really a nice coupe. Whoever buys it I hope it's an enthusiast who'll take care of it and fix it up. Reason why I'm selling it? I just want a more pristine old Benz. I'm hoping to get $4000 for it. But best offer will do. I don't wanna put it on E-Bay even if I could get more money for it. I don't wanna see it in the future all neglected or banged up or whatever. I prefer to sell it to somebody who could actually look at the car himself. I'd love to talk about it. We could meet up at a Starbucks or something and I'll show you the car. I would probably keep the Euro headlights and the 15" wheels and Michelin MXV4+ tires unless u can convince me to sell them. I will want another W123. Thank you, -Holson- ![]() In case you are wondering what happened to the holes (rust), I had them fixed. Call me at 617-879-9831 I love to talk bout these things... I can show you all the papers from all the work I've done to it. You could even talk to my mechanic.

Well I am reconsidering...
I don't know what my asking price is for now. If anybody is really interested send me an email. holson@bu.edu I live in Brookline, really close to BU Campus. I am now looking at a 1992 500E. If I get that car the 300CD-T would probably have to go, otherwise I'm keeping it. It's a special car in my opinion so its replacement has to be special too.
